Language immersion for toddlers?

Apologies in advance if this is not the kind of post this forum was intended for ... please feel free to remove if that’s the case.

I’m a Canadian parent of a 2 year old living in an English speaking province and I’m considering signing her up for French Immersion kindergarten.

Our native language is Russian - which is what we speak with her at home and I’m getting conflicting information on whether adding French this early on would affect her English language development.

Any advice, experience, opinions or resources would be greatly appreciated!
