Am not sure this is the right subreddit (just advise me otherwise) as I will try to post in a couple of subreddits I find relevant. So, am not directly asking for donations from your guys, your good financial advice might do me good because I feel ashamed and embarrassed bragging about my problems to other people who are probably having even more serious life problems than mine, let alone strangers on Reddit. But the truth is that I am almost out of options guys, and I should disclose earlier that my girlfriend who you will get to know soon is not aware that today I am turning to Redditors for solutions to our private problems, the one we have been trying to find a solution on our own for the past years with little success, I am a little worried on her reaction as I will have to tell her anyways in the end. Also, I am really scared to read all the negative comments, so I will appreciate it if you guys can stay positive no matter how much my positive offends or annoys you today. Please see me as a friend who is seeking your advice and support that might help a bit to stay positive I guess?
My problem has to do with 10,000 EURO + LOVE + STUDYING ABROAD. I will start by saying am scared to lose a woman I love and the one I have been fighting for, for the past 5 years. I am from somewhere in Africa and I have been dating my girlfriend who is German for the past 5 years, we met when she came volunteering in my country those days and since then our life has been fabulous with a few ups and downs as you will all know ” long-distance sucks”. Our relationship has been mostly long-distance with her visiting me a few times like 4 times so far as we are both not that financial stable plus Covid-19 came up and travelling became even more complicated. Probably someone is asking how is it possible to do 5 years long distance, I don't know myself, I just observed years passing like a Shadow with me loving my girlfriend like crazy. I wouldn't say it was always Christmas, we have many bad days and cries like normal couples and couples in the long distance in addition to other challenges facing interracial couples am sure they understand if they are here. Anyways, we try our best to stay positive and chose our love above all these challenges and we are still fighting for us to date, and I have the good feeling that we are approaching the end of this long distance, hope is good people.
Constantly, We have been working on ways to be together, marriage is one option but that can wait a bit as my girlfriend is still a student with two years to go until she graduates from her master program. At one point We concluded that an easy way for reuniting now would be for me to enter Germany as a student i.e via student visa, and I have been able to secure admission to some good universities including in the same programme and university as my girlfriend, yes we both like economics and I have a bachelor of economics already. Also, I tried to apply for master's scholarships from time to time with no success, as priorities by most of the major scholarship programs for Africa is to sponsor civil servants and am not one.
Conditions for obtaining a visa become tighter when you are a self-financing student, and there are two options.
OPTION 1) One has to provide a blocked account equivalent to 10,000 Euro. Fulfilling this option will save you a lot of trouble and you are almost 100% guaranteed a visa but it is a lot to me and my girlfriend.
OPTION 2) One has to supply the embassy with a guarantor letter from a German citizen with stable finance. My girlfriend is trying to work on the second option with her parents, although we are not sure of their financial position and whether the government will issue them with a guarantor letter, also this takes so much time and we are afraid we might not succeed to do enrollment on time as time is not our friend.
OUR PLAN AFTERWARDS
My girlfriend will host me for one-semester maximum she can't do more than that as it’s a policy on the accommodation she stays in as it's given especially for single students and it's far affordable. Another possibility will be finding another apartment and moving in together, for that I will secure a min job which students are allowed to do to cover my expenses and support her o the rent. During my studies, I will focus more on the language and look for a job after graduation as you are allowed to look for a job for a period of up to two years or something like an international student and I will settle with my girlfriend and have family there and support development in Africa as a diaspora.
DEADLINES??
We have two admissions
1) In the same university as my girlfriend where I am required to stats on December 20, 2021.
2) Admission at Berlin University for a summer semester, I should have a visa by March 2022 and start in April 2022.
WHAT DO WE NEED??
A piece of advice or support on raising the 10,000 Euro required by the embassy as the condition to get a visa as we are not sure of the second option due to facts I have highlighted. Any form of support and advice as we are going about this will be appreciated.
