A friend of mine, for his Common App essay wants to write about how he used to be really depressed but since then has turned around and put alot of effort into making his life better, and attributes alot to the inspiration and encouragement provided from his girlfriend. I'm a little worried that college admissions counselors won't care and will think it's a high-school love story type thing. What do you guys think?
