We're in the home stretch of my wife's military career, retirement will align roughly with our kid starting grade school. We're trying to choose where we we'll settle, family pressure is to go home to Texas, somewhere along the I-35 corridor. I'm less then excited about how the quality of Texas Education has been portrayed; however, interacting with a wide swath of Americans over the last 15-20 years, we've realized that we went to a good school. It was 3-4A while we were there.
Part of me thinks, going to a smaller 2 or 3 A school district will mean I can have a louder voice to advocate for quality education and safety.
So, how much influence can a parent have on the quality of education at the district level?
