Hi all,
Fellow of 32 here considering going back to school. I attended university for 2.5 years ending in 2011 and believe all of my credits are expired.
Due to life circumstances, I probably spent over a year cumulatively in Central America and have developed a love for the culture and language. I'm currently a 2nd year apprentice plumber and interact with native Spanish speakers regularly on job sites.
I'm considering a foreign service officer/public diplomacy career path as a goal for what I'd do with a bachelor's degree. I understand that there may be some more relevant degrees, but being that I'm older than most folks going to a college/university for the first time, I'm considering options that I may be able to accomplish slightly faster if they can garner me the same end results.
I regular study Spanish on my own in different manners and am currently at a lower-intermediate level, perhaps higher. Would I be able to place into a Spanish language B.A. program and complete in perhaps in 2 or 3 years?
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
