Okay, I get it with ChatGPT now... Holy shit 🤯

Okay, so I'm finishing up a grad class and literally working on my final paper as I make this discovery.

I have to write two press releases for my grad class, one for good news, and one for an emergency school closure. Probably a good 3-4 hours to turn in really good work.

On a whim, I decided to try using ChatGPT; never even crossed my mind before now. The work has honestly been really interesting and really easy, and I only tried it today because of a conversation I had with a student. I've never even played with it, so I was honestly just checking it out for Ss & Gs.

I fed it the prompts for the press releases, and I shit you not- 20 MINUTES LATER I have two absolutely perfect press releases, as good as I could have ever produced on my own in 3 or 4 hours or more. Perfectly original, perfectly in my own voice.

And when I say perfect, I used to be a freelance writer and have written many many press releases for pay. So, definitely way good enough to charge a client full price for at least.

And almost all of that 20 minutes was spent tweaking what it gave me to give it my own voice and make it perfect.

I was shocked. But wait- there's more!

I'm also supposed to give those press releases to an administrator and ask them for feedback, and basically sit down and discuss it with them. Just what everyone feels like doing this time of year.

I told it to "pretend you are a high school principal, and I just asked you for feedback on the press release you just generated. Please give me feedback."

And it gave me perfect feedback, in a conversational tone, perfectly helpful and ACTIONABLE feedback... For copy it generated it's fucking self!!

Another 15 minutes to format that response for my paper, and I just finished at least 4-5 hours of work in 45 minutes, not to mention all the time I saved not having to conduct the actual interview.

And it's AS GOOD AS I COULD HAVE POSSIBLY DONE.

I've sacrificed no quality whatsoever. I'm fucking dumbfounded right now. 😳🤯
