As a teacher, I know firsthand how often unexpected schedule changes—like assemblies, special programs, or testing days—can throw off the whole day. For example, my school does MAP testing three times a year, and it always disrupts the regular schedule. Add in other last-minute interruptions, and I often found myself scrambling to create an abbreviated schedule on the fly.
After years of this, I finally thought, “Why not build something to make this easier?” That’s why I created an iOS app specifically for elementary and middle school teachers to handle these situations seamlessly.
Here’s how the app works:
- Set the start and end times of your schedule.
- Add any pre-set events (like lunch or electives) that can’t be moved.
- The app automatically generates equal class periods within those bounds, keeping the pre-set events intact.
- You can then save, share (as text, or even via QR codes with other app users), and set alerts for class changes if you'd like.
Does this sound useful to you or anyone you know? I’d love to hear your thoughts, and if you’ve faced similar challenges, feel free to share your stories or suggestions!
