I've been a special education monitor for about two years now. Recently, I was moved into a room that has students with extensive needs. The classroom teacher is always out of the class, leaving myself and the TA to put out the fires. We have seven kids, all with extreme needs, against myself, the TA and four aides. The problem, the classroom aides have had it installed into them, that they are there as a body, nothing more. While the TA and I are paid enough, and shoild be able to run things effortlessly. Then, when the end of the day comes, the higher ups are confused that we have absolutely no tracking data on anyone. It's overwhelming and feels like a no win scenario.
Anyone else have similar experiences?.
