Does constantly learning help you learn faster?

I really hope this isn't spam or been asked before, I've struggled to word this question in searches which is why I came here to see if anyone could give me an answer or direct me to somewhere I could find one.

I have always had a curiosity in multiple fields and I'm currently doing an undergrad course in Philosophy, Economics, Sociology and Political Science. My course is quite broad in nature, particularly for Ireland, but I'm curious about other fields too - most notably psychology, history, mathematics, computer science and chemistry which I want to learn more about and has brought me here.

Basically my question is does learning one thing - say chemistry and atomic theory - benefit my capacity to learn in other fields? Does the processing of unrelated information help generally in assessing new information. Or could it have a negative effect where I am trying to learn too much and my memory and brain get worn out and confused?

Although I really do loving to learn all kinds of new information, I want to do it in a way that is both sustainable and structured and doesn't hinder - and hopefully benefits - my degree and would appreciate any and all advice.
