If I wanted to drop out and get my GED would it be worth it?

I'm 16 halfway through my sophomore year. I'm almost sure I want to pursue either culinary or archaeology. I know culinary you go to trade school for but I'm not sure if it requires a high school graduation for that or if I wanted to go into archeology.

Also people who dropped out and got their GED did they find it harder to get jobs? All in all is it worth it?
