Are LOTE/foreign language teachers having a hard time teaching in a remote setting?

I’m a High School student from New York and my French teacher - I think - is struggling. She doesn’t usually use technology and I’ve seen some kids in my class trick her because they make up some bullshit about technology. Also, in my school, she told me her French 2 and 3 classes are behind because during remote learning she had to slow down and couldn’t properly teach the language - on top of struggling with figuring out how to even use a computer. In New York, we have standardized tests for our LOTE/foreign language classes (usually only given to students who have had 3 years of experience learning a language) so I believe she’s even more stressed knowing her French 3 students might have a test to complete and (according to my friend) they never even attempt to speak French in her class.

So I was just wondering if other foreign language/LOTE teachers are experiencing similar problems?

I’m in French 2 this year and I’m only not that bad at French because I forced myself to socialize with French speakers on Discord and play video games with them, so that I could practice the language, but not every student will and can do that. So, now I’m wondering how are people going to learn a language if they barely speak it during class now?
