Should I disclose my gender identity when applying for a vacancy?

I’m close to finalizing my relocation plans (FL -> NC), and I’ve started looking at available vacancies in my area. As the title says, I’m wondering if I should disclose my gender identity. As a trans person, it’s a bit difficult to determine whether to apply as my preferred and soon-to- be legal name or use as my current legal name. I’m also a first-year teacher, so I’m a bit lost. Hopefully, someone here can help.

A bit more information, up until this point, I have not disclosed my gender identity to any of my employers, but since I will be doing top surgery in a few weeks, I feel as though it’d be too hard to conceal, hence my confusion.
