Hi Educators!
My school is beginning the process of developing a plan for returning to school in person. I have so many questions about how to help the kids transition, but those seem pretty regional. Does anyone work in a school that is back in person? What are the safety protocols in place? Have they worked or not (I count 0 positive cases as not having been tested, where as 1 or 2 that didn't spread is really successful)? How are you feeling? Do you have any tips to share?
I have a friend who went back in person and she makes a little bag for each kid with their "outside supplies". She puts the kids into an abandoned parking lot and has each kid stand in staggered corners of the parking spaces, so they can lean and keep social distancing outside. She then has them write answers to questions on the boards, and hold up their answers. They've had one case, and it didn't spread. They also have giant plexiglass shields in the building, to block the teachers from the rest of the students.
