Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the best subreddit for this. If not, please feel free to advise perhaps a better subreddit that would be better suited.
My niece is currently in grade 7 in Ontario, Canada.
1) I try to help her as best I can with her homework and learning, generally about math and science. I consider myself to be fairly competent in those subjects areas, but I'm looking for any suggestions/resources/advice/apps/etc. on how to best help her get the most out of our tutoring time together. I realize this is a fairly vague question, but I'm all ears.
2) Specifically when it comes to apps - We mostly do distance studying over video calls. So I'm looking for a good whiteboard app. I've come across a few which carry a fee, and I'm hoping to keep this free, or as close to free as possible. I've tried out Google's Jamboard and it was decent. Wondering if there are any better options out there?
3) External tutoring - I'm looking into additional tutoring resources that she could participate in, especially for math. So far I've come across Kumon and Mathnasium. Kumon is global, better known, and focuses on repetition, while Mathnasium seems more geared towards the Canadian curriculum. They're both a little pricey from what I understand. Thoughts on either of these, or any other suggestions are most welcome.
Thank-you in advance for any and all assistance with this.
