Is that how you as teachers feel as each year in your career goes on? I know that of course there will also be those students who keep in touch with you and who you have genuinely impacted, but for the most part, do you see it as mostly a come and go thing? If so, do you think that again contributes to the loneliness side of teaching where the community lasts for awhile but then (let's say if you live alone and don't have kids) feels empty after during breaks?
