I’m a music teacher. An assignment I gave my students in the last few days of school almost became a gang war (between them and another grade). So many bad things happened as a result of my actions. I am so ashamed and I don’t know what I am going to do. I have apologized profusely, but the parents and admin do not care. In a meeting with the principal and dean, I was told that there would be a board meeting in which my termination will be proposed in a few days. I emailed my resignation and was told by the superintendent that I am already fired and that I cannot resign. The board meeting has not yet occurred. Can they legally reject my resignation?
