As an educator careers counsellor or teacher would you find value in a platform that allows students to experience a range of careers in an immersive AR/VR experience?

As an educator or careers counsellor, would you be interested in a platform that allows students to engage with real jobs through VR/AR?

This is something that I’ve wished for since I was a kid. I can’t not think of a very long list of jobs I’d love to experience and explore at a range of companies.

With the imminent release of the Apple lens pro next year, I expect consumer uptake of VR/AR headsets to steadily increase, if not explode in the next 3-5 years (once they become more affordable and competitors enter the market of course).

With this, I’m thinking now would be the perfect time for a team to start developing a product in the VR/AR space that allows anyone to experience a specific career or job position at a company through VR or AR in great detail, with sounds and visuals generated from a real day in the life of a professional in that career.

You would also be able to see onscreen salary information, required qualifications as well as the outlook for the career you’re viewing and the position description.

The experiences could be short (10-15 minutes) but be engineered to cover all of the important nuances of a particular role.

If this became real, I also see it as a cool tool for certain companies to allow the average person insight into the day in a life of an employee at their company (for me I would jump at experiencing a day at Pixar animation studios).

My question for this sub is, would you find utility in a platform that would allow your students to experience different careers on demand in immersive VR/AR?
