It kinda feels like a scam and unnecesssary burden. Half of the stuff you learn in school or college you’ll have to revisit anyways as you go , because it’s impossible to retain all that variety of information. Seems like half of it is a waste of time. Not even gonna talk about middle school and high school being where dreams and passions literally die. If those don’t die then your mental does. Everything is forced down your throat..regardless if you’ve already decided a major or not. Someone who’s interested in economics should NOT have to learn chemistry.. WHY DO WE DO THIS ? Same for college. For example i wanted to study physics purely from a theoretical POV ..why the fck do I need to know trigonometry.. at least make it a recommended course but make it optional to opt out. I’m sorry but I failed Trig in college twice cause it coincided with some other life changes and I had to watch my dreams die because of that . I just couldn’t *memorize ** TRIG but why should I have to memorize if I can google it at any time ??? Why is this a requirement. 4 years later and it seems like all the education I’ve received my whole life was useless.. and only served as a way to exercise the mind… if I’ve learned anything is to tolerate unpleasant situations where you’re forced to learn things you don’t care about . I’m not sure if I wanna go back to college. My co worker is studying health psychology and I saw her reading up on genitals the other day… I mean it’s one thing to know the different STDs and genital pathologies and how they relate to psychology or something … but why do I need to know what the fallopian tubes are and what they’re called .. they didn’t even touch on nutrition as much as they touched on THAT !! Please don’t downvote me. This was probably a bad example , but PLEASE tell me you relate??? What’s your major and do you suffer in the same way??
