Hello, everyone!
Small question: why is my middle school addressing paper mail to students and not the parents? I can't remember ever getting mail addressed to me until I was an adult. What is the purpose of addressing mail to the student instead of the parent? Like report cards, progress reports, parent meetings, everything gets addressed to the child, even though it's for the parent. Just wondering when/why that started happening?
I used to be a paraeducator in elementary schools and worked all grades K-5. I left because of the weird lack of boundaries in the schools I worked in. Like first name basis between students and staff, hugging and other physical contact. So, I may be over reacting with the address thing, but it makes me uncomfortable when adults treat children like adults. It all just feels unprofessional and the boundaries seem too blurry for my preferences 🤷
