Hey,
So to provide some context to my situation, I started my A levels 3 years ago at 17 years old and dropped out after a year due to getting severe panic attacks. Because of this, I have sort of spiralled out of control and I now struggle to leave my house.
As I am now 20, I think now is a good time to make the decision to get back into education. Now, if things would have went the way I wanted them to I would most likely be studying computer science or something alike in an actual university (I want to work in web development, software development, web design, game development, etc)
So, seeing as I struggle to leave my house the only option I have left is to begin studying at home. I have researched Open University but the degree (Computing & IT) isn’t necessarily what I’m looking for as I don’t think it will give me the skills I need to become a web/software developer. I have also looked into the Bsc Degree in Computer Science at University of London, but have heard that it isn’t very practical?
I’m feeling a little stuck. I don’t think I could just follow a course on Udemy because there isn’t much of a provided structure, so I’d get lazy and just slack off. Whereas, if I enrolled to an ACTUAL qualification, I’d be more likely to finish it.
I know the ‘basics’ of html and css but that’s about it. Any recommendations?
I need a program with structure, something that will hold me accountable to my work, something that will provide me with an actual qualification that can be used in the world, something that will teach me from beginner to advanced - like how a university should do.
