Got into the University of Oxford but I am billed as an international student 😂

I managed to get into the University of Oxford to read Mechanical engineering as a Nigerian Immigrant to the UK.

I got here in March 2022, but I got denied Student finance because due to my immigration status, I don't qualify for student finance. I have a Limited leave to remain status, and saw on the gov.uk site that students with a LLR and who have already spent minimum of three years before uni.

However, I my LLR status is as a dependent on my mother who has a skilled worker visa. It turns out there's more nuance to an LLR status. I have applied

I am currently billed £59,260 per year instead of £9,535. 😂

I need to have spent half of my life or 20 years in the UK before applying for funding .

I will be going through clearing and rigorously applying for any financial support.

Nonetheless, I'm grateful that I applied and secured a place.
