Graduate School: Being thorough vs working smarter?

This is my first semester online in graduate school all while working full time. I've been giving true studying a good shot (reading every article and doing all of the assignments. So far haven't had any issues keeping up good grades, but getting totally burnt out. I know I can keep my grades up by doing less work and working "smarter", but I feel like I would be selling myself short by not actually learning some of the material. Being surrounded by other professionals in the field, I am wondering are others going through the same thing and in if it's normal to do what you can or am I alone?
