Critical Infrastructure designation

I work in SD as a teacher. My school board is going to discuss passing the Critical Infrastructure designation on Monday. My superintendent doesn't seem to know how that affects teachers, students or the school.

I know that the president declared something like this in August, but I cannot find any information besides that teachers would be exempt from the covid quarentine guidelines. Is that true? That sounds dangerous to myself and students.

I am concerned they will pass this without thinking or researching the impact positive or negative this will have on the staff and students.

Can anyone explain how this would benefit teachers, students or the school?

Are there any sources I can bring to the attention of the board for reference?
