How to get Vietnamese students to speak English outside of the classroom?

Hi everyone,

I work for an international university in Vietnam, and as a student engagement coordinator, my current project is to get students to speak English outside of the classroom. 97% of the students and 92% of the lecturers are Vietnamese natives, and students only speak English when they have no alternative.

How would you approach this task without making the students feel negative about it?
