Looking for a collection of three minute “sermons” to start rehearsals with. Ones that are appropriate in a public school setting

I want to start off my choral lessons with a little bit of thematic character focused reading. One of my directors in college would always read a passage from the Bible to start off rehearsal. That’s obviously not appropriate in our modern day public education setting. I want to keep that idea alive though.

There’s certain ideals I want my students to understand. Vigilance. Respect. Kindness. Honesty. Charity. Things like that.

I want to start each rehearsal with a 2-3 minute reading based on these. Does anyone know of a book that might have a collection of readings like this?

I have a book entitled 100 Three Minute Sermons by Gunn. It is a collection of newspaper articles he wrote. Some of them are well suited for the classroom. Some can be edited to become secular. Some I just can’t use at all.

Anything would be useful. A book. A website. A regular publication.
