I was tasked with teaching art to a group of kiddos on the autism spectrum this year, and I can't find much info online considering best practices/pedagogy. Some ideas I've had were to utilize photography when learning the principles of design, do some geometric work with pencil and paper with a focus on fine motor skills, and have a weekly art therapy session involving sensory stimulation with different materials. That's is all I've got so far, and it's kind of surprising how little info I can find on the internet. Does anyone have any recommendations for curriculum? Thanks!
