How to study?

Not entirely sure if this is the right sub.

Im in 11th grade and up until now, im been able to basically wing everything and do really well. Im getting to the stage where i feel like i really need to actually learn how to study. I do practice papers before a test and in the days leading up to it i typically go through my work and just rewrite some of the more important stuff down but i feel like i could be doing something much more beneficial.
