help with my future

I am in year 9. I am basically a hopeless student. This year half yearly report card I got 3 c’s 1a and 3b’s. And yet I am really really passionate about pursuing law in my higher studies in yr 11 and 12, but I’m not sure if I should or if I can. See, I live in Australia and I chose my year 9 electives as engineering, IT, and music. It is now that my friends are telling me that if I want to pursue legal studies in year 11 I needed to choose commerce as an elective, so any clarity on that is appreciated. now comes the part if I SHOULD do legal studies. As I mentioned before I got my half yearly report card and it was terrible. Would I be fit to be a law student in year 11? How can I improve myself? any advice on what hsc subjects I should choose to pursue law is also appreciated(as a backup aeronautical engineering is my second choice after law) Any advice is much appreciated thank you soo much Have a great day :)
