I’m a new college graduate and I’m thinking of getting into a public school teaching career

I’m a college graduate in education and I’m having thoughts in public school teaching. Is it worth it? If it’s a great job, why is there a teacher shortage and schools are hiring many foreign asian teachers instead of local Americans?
