Good evening everyone,
I have a general question regarding my admission to university and I hope maybe some of you have experienced my situation. First allow me to quickly explain my situation. After finishing my high school in may 2018 I had a gap year until september of 2019. In the gap year I travelled for months and had a great time. In september 2019 I started studying law at the dutch University of Applied sciences level (HBO). Last May I submitted my application for Law at Research university level, and I fulfilled all the admission requirements. So until a few weeks ago I was positive about me starting this course this september.
Unfortunately, due to complex procedures that i will not bother you with ;), it seems very likely that I can not start my studies now (the case is still ongoing). Even worse is that I am already renting a room in my university town since March, and I already had a gap year between my high school and first year of college. If I can not start this september, I will probably start next september, and I will be 22 y/o by then(!). I am not really sure what to do the coming year, now that I can not study. I really do not want to move back in with my parents, travelling also does not really seem like an option do to covid-19, and just working to live also seems kinda pointless but is worth considering. I hope I do not sound like a complainer, but I am just not sure what to do.
Anyways, has anyone of you or someone you know been in this situation? Anyone help/advice/critique is welcome! Thank you in advance for reading and answering my question :-)
