Moving to a NYC surburb next year, and the quality of the school system is going to decide whether I move to Westchester, Long Island, or NJ and the particular town/village/city within each region. I have a 6 year old who is currently in 1st grade.
Is greatschools.org the best resource I can use to find a good school district? What are some other resources that I can use as an alternative/supplement?
I heard Greatschools can be flawed, but I assume if the rating is 8+, then it's pretty safe to assume the school is good? If it's less than 8, the rating could just be affected by some bias even if the school is good or it could indeed indicate it's not a great school?
