Firstly let me apologise if this post isn’t exactly suited to this subreddit. I’ve just had an argument with my mother and I’ve realised how poorly set out the education system is. I’m expected to sacrifice the time of my life where I learn who I am, what I want to do and where I want to go, just so I can live a bearable life in the future, just so I can pay taxes towards an institution that -particularly at the moment- doesn’t care about me or my future. I’m expected to sacrifice my childhood and now my teenage years, the years in which I should be discovering who I am and spending time with my friends, just so I can hopefully manage as an adult permitted the government manages to keep itself and the country stable -which it’s also failing at might I add-.
It just baffles me and I need to see if there are any likeminded folks out there who also think that the education system is incredibly flawed and to a degree unfair, regardless of how important it may be. Thank you to those of you who read this.
