CRISPR kits for kids? What are they like?

Now, I'm not asking about ethics. I'm familiar with the ethics questions around CRISPR in general. I also don't need to be told to coordinate with my sister. These things would seem obvious but you'd be surprised how many people want to jump on you, presumptuously....Anyways.I'm asking for anyone who's done a CRISPR experiment with their kids and how that experience went?Or, for any actual chemists/biologists out there who are familiar with the CAS9 gene editing process, if there are any potential dangers in the advertised glow-in-the-dark jellyfish protein gene splicing experiments?

I also want to know what else I might get her to produce a more immersive experience. I'm thinking a lab coat and microscope (like a decent one, not just a kids toy. We had a kids one when I was a kid and we couldn't view anything close to what we should have been able to according to the books and this killed the experience completely) along with some sample media, slides, and some lightweight books on microbiology, germs, spores, etc. so that she can study and identify things with it. Say, the glow in the dark yeast cultures as they grow and relate this microbiology to her veritable farm of animals she currently cares for including multiple reptiles and chickens I was hoping someone might make recommendations for a more fully featured microscope with significant enough resolution and such that it might carry her through intermediate biology or biochem if she goes that far and where I might get one and for how much?

I have a brilliant niece with multiple reptile pets and chickens as well. Biology is her thing and she's well beyond her age in this area intellectually and I want to give her an experience in doing real, technical science as I know this is something she enjoys and which she is well above any classes, even most of the gifted and talented ones for her age group. Also, I believe hands-on learning is key to retaining knowledge and building practical ability and this seems like a very exciting experiment that produces a very real result to leave a positive impact. CRISPR is here and it's not well enough understood for people to make informed decisions about it oftentimes, but it is something she will have to face in the world increasingly as she grows up and I feel like this is a great opportunity for her to study the topic.

Advice? Share your experiences doing CRISPR experiments?

Pros/cons from people who have done it?
