Grad Student request for help! Special Education Support and Outside Agencies Query

Hi there teachers,

I'm in a master's degree program for K-8 elementary and K-12 special ed, and a midlife career changing adult. I am in Oregon, California, and Washington. Grad school is online.

I have to write a reflection about special education services and outside agencies. I need some help!

These are the questions:

Who oversees the support: the school or an outside agency? What services do they support?
Are the services free, or do families need to pay for these services?
How are community resources shared with families?
Are supports discussed in the beginning of the school year, at conferences, in IEPs, or elsewhere?
Did the mentor teacher create his or her own newsletter/brochure, or utilize the school, district, or community made resources?
Discuss the importance of continuing the support for students and families or caregivers outside of the classroom. What are the benefits and challenges associated with receiving supports outside of the school day?
Discuss if there are limited resources in certain areas, and if so, how has the mentor teacher or school addressed those identified limitations.
If any of the 3.4K people currently online can drop some knowledge, I would be grateful! I am supposed to work with a mentor teacher, but I am traveling, so it's a little difficult.

If this is enjoyable for anyone, it would really help me out! You are the “mentor teacher” in this scenario. I don't require lengthy answers. I have some understanding in the process of advocacy and facilitating local and regional support for students with disabilities outside the public school learning environment, but any comments you might share will enhance my understanding.

If any kind-hearted teachers are open to contributing responses, may I ask for your name and school district for my practicum hours form? In DMs, of course.
I look forward to any replies. Thank you in advance.
This is a shot in the internet dark. I appreciate all you do for the kids!
