Hello everyone.
I am writing this post as a last resort. This is my last hope.
I got an acceptance letter from Bayes Business School for the MSc program in Marketing Strategy and Innovation. This has been a lifelong dream of mine and coming from a lower middle class family and being a first generation learner, this is my only opportunity to get out of poverty.
I have worked exceptionally hard, the last few years, to create a powerful resume. I have done courses, completed internships. I was so sure that this time, I would not be let down.
I applied for the Boyle Rodney Scholarship, which is a fully funded scholarship and also gives a monthly allowance to cover the living costs. I knew I was a perfect fit for the scholarship and the program, considering the fact that our annual household income is less than 2,800 GBP (2,80,000 INR). I was rejected, for unknown reasons. I have already paid the deposit of 2,000 GBP, borrowing from a family friend. I have scored excellent marks in my IELTS and had prepared almost everything, when I found out about the rejection from the scholarship panel and realised that I cannot go. I cannot even take a loan of the entire tuition fee and living cost because my family's financial condition renders us helpless and ineligible to take out such a huge amount of loan. The maximum amount of loan I can take can cover 1/4th of the tuition fees and living expenses.
Maybe I should have accepted the fact that it is too big of a dream for me, but after having worked so hard and taking every possible measure, it is just unacceptable to me to let my dreams crumble like this.
Please let me know if there is any option for a fee waiver or any charity that I can apply to. Are there any measures that I can take to ensure financial support?
At this point, I am penniless, out of options and by the looks of it, without any hope.
In the last few weeks, I have written countless emails, reaching out to several people of the university and the people of the scholarship panel. No one has been able to help me out.
I don’t have a lot of time because they won’t issue an unconditional letter after the 1st of August.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
