If I do not have a GED would I still be able to take a electrician program at a community college?

I had to move states when I was young. I was doing just fine in school but moved due to a money issue. When I switched schools they dropped SOOOO many of my credits and I would have need 3 extra years of highschool. At my school I was able to leave early senior year because I did above and beyond to make my last year easy.

I know it's stupid but when I went to the free GED class in my city it was SO boring and I just stopped going. I know it's ignorant of me but it is very hard for me to do things that bore me.

I am trying to better me and my family's life and would like to try to learn how to be a electrician but I'm unsure if I will need a GED to get into the community college.

I'm sure no one here can give me a answer with 100% certainty since I'm sure it varies state to state, but I'm just wondering what you guys think?
