Research on self-taught individuals class vs students class

Are there any studies comparing:

1- A self-taught student class without a teacher but with access to the internet and a library.

2- A traditional student class with a teacher and access to the internet and a library.

Class 1 with full freedom and autonomy.

Class 2 with scheduled school hours.

Finally, a common test to measure who has learned more.

Is there any study of this kind or similar?
