So I was having an conversation with my mom about the fact that east asian countries (more specifically where I’m from, South Korea) has a more competitive / difficult / whatever education compared to the US. With the academies (more specifically, hagwons) being very common, I told my mom that students in the US probably have a more stressless school life + more free time (compared to korean students) due to there being less academies / hagwons (or none at all) and my mom said that they probably get tutors. Is this actually true??? like im genuinely curious is this actually common
edit: btw i mean tutors that you get outside of school; ones that are provided by the school dont count
