Looking forward to your thoughts on a tool I'm working on to enhance understanding.

I've been lurking on this sub for a while and I see a chat GPT ai post every other day about how it is affecting education. I wanted to build a solution to this problem and have been working on this for the past 6 months. I'm reaching out today to share and gather your thoughts on it. I've named it "Sincerely." It's a tool designed to navigate the complex intersection of AI technology and education, with a focus on promoting genuine understanding and learning.

My thought process in coming up with this was how can we ensure that these AI advancements aid rather than hinder the true educational journey of students?

Here's the essence of "Sincerely":

I want it to integrate with submission portals and LMS. I'm currently working on making it compatible with Canvas which many of you use. The way it works is:

When the student first submits their work, the tool examines student assignments for signs of AI-generated content and stylistic anomalies, ensuring the work's authenticity.

After that, "Sincerely" engages students interactively. A live automated video dialog pops up and it asks them questions about their work, highlighting the sentences that were flagged for potential AI usage, diving into their understanding of the subject matter. This isn't just about what they've written, but about how deeply they comprehend and can discuss the concepts.

Sincerely then analyses the work submission along with the video to provide valuable feedback for educators. I've identified a few metrics that I think will add value. These include an 'Understanding Score' to gauge the depth of a student's knowledge, an 'Authenticity Index,' and an 'Interactive Communication Score.' These scores together will give a better sense of whether the student has used AI to enhance their learning or are using it blindly without an effort to comprehend the course content. However, I'm also aware that this is a new approach and that there's much to learn and refine.

This is where I'd love to hear from you. What are your thoughts on integrating a tool like "Sincerely" into the educational process? Do you see it enhancing true learning and understanding, or are there aspects I might be overlooking?

You can try out a demo of the app. The link is in the comment below
