First, I need to say that English is not my first language, so any misspelled word or problems with my grammar are understandable.
I teach in what in US you call "Community College". Is in a career about education. I teach Spanish Grammar and Writing. I have 31 students in that class: all of them grown ups (between 25-45 years old). We're finishing the school year. One of my students, "JS" was very disrespectful towards me all year: barely shows up at class, her assignments were pretty bad and never fixed them and when she shows at my class she is with her phone, never reads a thing or participate in the class. She almost failed in May, because she did a lousy work, I said to her to do a make-up which was even worse. My fellow colleagues forced me to give her a third chance, against my considerations. So she send the 3rd make-up exam and she barely pass (also horrible), because she doesn't care to fix the paper with all of my considerations (it's like she belittles me and my knowledge in the subject)
Two weeks ago, she (and other students as well) must send to me a make-up exam. The test originally was due on September 9th. I send her the mark on September 18th and I told her that she must fix some thing. The make-up was due to november 3rd. In between those dates I give 4 coaching classes for ALL THE STUDENTS that needed to do the make-up. She never shown up. When the due date of the make-up finally arrived, she didn't send me the paper. But, she asked another professor for my cell number and wrote me a message. Totally inappropiate. I said many times that I don't give my number to students, that they must wrote an e-mail. I complain about it with the Vice Chancellor about it.
Next week, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor talked with me and Oh, surprise! JS complained about me for failing in my subject. I said, that she didn't accomplished the bare mynimum (75% attendance and all of her assignments). But it seems to them, that is my fault. Vice Chancelor even screams at me.
I was very stressed, I've cried. Never in 18 years teaching I had a situation with a student like this. In fact I'm like the "cool teacher", the one who teachs with humour, good vibes and that is fair with her students.
Now, Chancellor asked me (today) to make a re-re do paper for her, based in the Norms of the Institution. I'm really pissed. Like someone said "Fuck my drag, right?". I feel disrespected, like no one cares about me. I did my job, she didn't. Her classmates (all of them) with all the problems of adulthood did their job but her. For me it's disrespectful for them too. It's not fair. What do I do?
