I repeated third high school year. Teachers call me intelligent. Should I even take it serious?

my new teachers from my new class me smart but i repeated class. They should actually know about that, isn't it. Therefore I repeated all of the things they have been learning now and I can even remember from last year. Should I still be delighted by their comment or should I be critical and don't feel praised?
