If every question was a "thinking" question everyone would be a genius. But instead schools are currently structured so that you just memorize how to do something and execute it on your own. In my opinion this is what results in people being "school smart" but idiots when it comes to actually living and if schools taught the same material but rather only tested us using "thinking" questions everyone would be significantly smarter.
Do you think this was done intentionally (cough cough conflict theory of social change) or have we just reached a point where schools are just lazy/ underfunded and hence creativity isnt cared about.
A thinking question is essentially a question youve never seen before but youve been taught the basic information needed to answer it. U just need to connect the dots.
