What is the standard introductory textbook that covers many of the important areas of your subject?

Hi everyone,

Hope this post isn’t off topic for this subreddit!

I am curious about a lot of things and enjoy reading introductory textbooks to gauge whether or not I want to explore further into a subject so I was hoping you could help me with this.

What is your field of study and what is an introductory textbook that you would recommend? What textbook is considered the “bible” of your field?

As an example, I have a MSc in finance and the textbook I would recommend is Options, futures and other derivatives - John C. Hull.
