When there is a school shooting threat, how does the investigation go? What is the process? What are some policies that are put in place?

Hello, so a while ago the school I go to faced a school shooting by threat. (This is in Ohio) They said that they put a investigation out, but how does it work? Can anyone awnser this and the other questions?
