My uncle (42M) and his girlfriend (44F) want to send my cousin (4F) to a private Catholic school in London despite both of them being atheists. Me and my uncle are from an eastern European country but he lived in England for more than 5 years now. His girlfriend is from China but moved to England when she was 17. They want the best education for their daughter, which I understand, but they want to enrol her in a Catholic school since other private schools are too expensive and according to them she won't have a future if she goes to the state school.
The problem is, they're both atheists and always said my cousin should be able to choose a religion for herself if she wants when she's older. Now they're going to baptize her in our country in December since it's a requirement for this Catholic school.
Is it true what they say about schools in England? That no matter the grades she won't be accepted at any good university after state school? I think they can find really good state schools in London. I'm trying to do my own research but I also never lived there.
Also please excuse my poor English.
