I have been helping to design a high school STEM lab. I’m not a designer. It has tons of cool stuff, but it’s super industrial looking. The teacher came to me almost in tears saying it’s not welcoming. She’s not wrong. There’s no rounded corners or soft surfaces. How can we keep soften the industrial look, so it still says STEMLab without feeling so clinical?
She suggested adding plants and fabric on the bulletin board. Any other ideas?
