Am I going about starting a career in education naively?

Hi all! I am a 27 year old female who is considering making a pivot into elementary education following several years of working in large hospitals as a CNA (pediatrics, adult ICU, and NICU). Forgive my ignorance as I’m still trying to navigate this all, but any guidance or insights would be so greatly appreciated!

I’m hoping this isn’t too unrealistic: I live in the greater Boston area and was recently accepted to an Elementary Education program to complete my bachelor’s degree. 70 of my credits transferred, and I am budgeting for an estimated 18 months unto matriculation.

In the meantime, I am currently looking for paraeducator and teacher aide jobs. My plan is to work in that role until I graduate and can hopefully procure a teaching position while working on my graduate degree.

Is that terribly unrealistic or naive? Any thoughts or advice would be so appreciated!
