Going back to school at 38 years old (sorry if this is the wrong sub for this)

I got most of my general ed stuff done when I went to college out of high school but I never picked a major and left college.

I make an okay living now but it's very unfulfilling and I'm considering going back to school for a degree in Economics. I'd have to take out loans for it so I'm really hesitant to do this given the state of... everything.

Is going into a math heavy field as a middle aged man a bad idea? Generally it's the youngsters who end up working the high dollar business jobs.

Anyway, thanks for reading.
