What is your "Why" for still being in education?

Educators, serious question here...

What is your "Why" for still being in the profession after 2 of the hardest years in education EVER? Is it because you love teaching? Why do you continue to get up and go to the campus? Is it because you love the students? Are you too close to retirement? Don't know what else you would do?

This a judgement free post. As a former educator myself, I'm in complete awe of the work you continue to do in the face of all the things making your already impossible job even more challenging.

No matter the reason, I want to say, "Thank you" for what you do during these trying times. The kids need you now more than ever... heck, we all need you. I know our tomorrow will be better because of the work you are doing today.
