I am a graduate and I have a degree in translation. Choosing a major was so hard for me as I’m so hesitant and I always doubt my choices. Translation; passion-wise, killed every bit of my soul. I hated it more than anything and I was very bad at translating from English to the correspondent language. Back when I was in university I would go to literary clubs and literary seminars and literally get a brain-gasm as I was so delighted talking about words, meaning and life. I love history, philosophy, sociology, and anything meaningful and deep cough very pretentious cough. But I genuinely love such things and I’m so passionate and eager to learn. Now I want to pursue my master’s but I wonder if I should pursue Literature, I don’t read novels I just can’t but I read non-fiction & I genuinely loved it when I went to book clubs and seminars and discussed life and existence. Does that make me eligible to study literature? Is studying literature as passionate as I think it is or will getting to the technicality of language and delving into the actual theories and such change my point of view?
